Cheap and Free Entertainment for Juliette

Since taking Juliette out of daycare, I've been having a hard time keeping her entertained. I don't want her to be bored silly.

Some of the things we do are:
1. Head to Barnes and Nobles for storytime. Our local store holds their storytime at 10am. They read about 3 stories, and then give the kids cookies afterwards. After the storytime is over, Juliette and I sit down in a corner and read a couple other books. My daughter LOVES stories.
2. The tree park. This is a local park with some GREAT shade. Shade is pretty huge here in Florida. We go about once a week.
3. Alderman's Ford. Another awesome park. It's pretty hot and muggy, but we go in the early morning to ride our scooter around their awesome boardwalk (Julie rides her scoother, I walk). It goes over the river, so we have a good time talking about nature and picking up leaves. Again, since it's so hot, we usually only go early in the morning, and Juliette and I are not morning people.
4. Lettuce Lake Park. A great park, not to far from our house, again with a great boardwalk and some awesome animals. Most of the parks around here have some pretty standard equipment, so we love to play anywhere. We love to watch the animals, though with a three year old, we don't see many of them.
5. The mall. Most people might not think this is a cheap form of entertainment, but for us it is. Occasionally, I'll take Juliette here to let her look around. She LOVES looking at clothes and has her "favorite" stores to go in. She calls things "stylish" and tells me how beautiful the diamonds are (she loves to look at jewerly). When we go, we'll hop on the carousel and very rarely eat at Panera. We also find a cozy chair at the book store and read a couple of our favorites.
6. Cooking/Baking with momma - Something I plan on starting with Juliette is working on a recipe each week. She loves to cook in the kitchen with me, so I am going to find certain recipes that go along with the letter we are working on for the week. I know this is something she'll enjoy, and I think cost can be kept down on this.
7. I am considering using part of my tax return to pay for some annual passes to either the zoo or the aquarium (or both!) She loved visiting the aquarium, and she's a true animal lover ... so this is something I am considering for next year.
8. Dinosaur World. We did Dino World one day a couple of months ago, and while it's not a whole day attraction, it only cost $27 for us to get in. She loved looking at all the different types of dinos, and because she was sick, we didn't even do the whole fossil dig. I know she would have loved that.
9. Theme Day - This is something I think I am going to start. I am thinking about doing on day a week, probably when I have the day off, and planning a special lunch and craft for us. I am going to do it with Disney themed things at first ... I'm sure this will be a big hit.

I'm going to keep updating this page, when I do new things. Hopefully, it'll work. Fingers crossed!
