No more presents mom

HAHA! That's what I heard coming from the back seat of the car on the way home tonight. Because of our busy day on her birthday, yesterday I gave her a Princess coloring thing (it's really big, and I got it for 1/2off at walmart clearance) and Happy Feet (bought for $10 at Target on 12/26) I didn't wrap them b/c she refused to unwrap my mom's gift for her (6 pairs of dress up shoes) ... and she was thrilled with these new presents.

So, on the way home today, she politely informed me that she can't get anymore presents b/c her birthday is DONE! Fine with me ... I'll keep the stickers and Mickey book I picked up at the $1 Spot on 12/26 for a rainy day, child. I'm trying to raise her frugal, maybe it's working.

    Any chance she is five years old for this birthday? I remember it was when my child was five that he said on Christmas that it was all just too much. And believe me, it was not even much at all.

    Nope, three. However, last year was the same way. So, I cut WAY back this year, and told my mom to do the same. She didn't listen, and when we had a nearly three year old throwing a temper tantrum about having to open presents on Christmas, my mom finally saw the light.

    It's too much for her to have Christmas and then a week later have a birthday. I am seriously considering doing a half birthday for her when she starts school.

    Your little daughter is able to say when she is at the edge of being able to cope with a lot of stimulation. Smart cookie!
