That's how much I spent in daycare last year.
OUCH!
Could you imagine if I could deposit that money into a savings account, with what's left of "decent" interest ... and add the $540 a month I am currently paying.
With compounded interest, from now until she's 5 ... that would be a pretty penny.
Thank goodness I LOVE my little girl and her daycare, b/c it hurts a little to think of how much money it is.
Today was a zero dollar day ... WOOT. I have one or two more days of planned spending this month, but I am aiming for zero dollars for most of this coming week.
$6580

Seems like a lot, but when you are the provider of the childcare, its not. Childcare workers don't make that much at all. Centers have overhead, and home ones also have fees and increased insurance rates and such.

I got my daycare balance sheet thing ... whatever it's called so I have proof of what I paid this year for my rebate on taxes.

IT is a lot.
I guess I am replying to say be glad you don't live in California. LOL. (We could never fathom putting 2 in full-time, even with 2 wages).
But the good is it is a rather temporary expense. You can vow to put that money to savings when she outgrows it, and that could be a pretty good plan. Around here there are also a lot of cheaper plans/public options for 3 and 4yos. IT was like $1k/month for infancy and there are pretty decent $600/month options for 3yos (particularly potty trained ones). Just didn't know if you had other options as she ages. Though if you are HAPPY it is probably well worth the money.
